4anime Sudden Shut Down Following Legal Pressure
With millions of monthly users, 4anime was one among the most popular pirate stream sites. The streaming giant "4anime" recently (12, July 2021) announced its shutdown, providing no further explanation. Anime is very popular among teens and adults these days as free anime online sites emerge. Anime/Manga used to be limited to just Japan and nowadays, it's viewers/readers are global and enjoy anime online from any location.
Anime, got it's worldwide success by piracy and pirate Giants such as Kissanime, Otakustream, 9Anime, WcoStream, AnimeDao and Many more. Some of the oldest torrent sites like The PirateBay, KickAss Torrent and 1337x featured "Anime" categories and today it's downloaded through dedicated torrent site Nyaa and streamed through dedicated streaming sites.
Success of these sites having millions of users hasn't gone unnoticed by Copyright People. In 2020, a 3rd party law firm agency processed a court order against several online anime domains. KissAnime.ru and KissManga.com got targeted by them and sites went offline by Admins willingly.
4Anime got Targeted on 12, July 2021
When pirate giants and sites linking shut down, Thousands (1000+) others or copycats site take their place. 4Anime welcomed abandoned users from forcefully closed sites and this helped them grow their site really fast but their site got targeted.
Few months ago, 4anime and other pirate sites got listed in site blocking in Australia but that never stopped them from providing service.
Unexpected and Sudden Shutdown
4Anime's official domain started redirecting to GitHub host announcing shutdown publicly.
Message saying : Sorry for ending things this way. Due to certain circumstances we have to close the site. All the bookmarks will be available via login in the next week or two so don't worry.
However, all the videos and content is deleted and we encourage you to support the industry by viewing on legal alternatives or something.
